Breakdown

So my dear Lady in Red conked out on me today morning. Windows Vista won’t boot up in normal or in safe mode. System Repair refuses to initialize and Last Known Good Configuration was known a long time back. The safe mode gets stuck at one particular driver and gives me the blue screen of death. Windows won’t boot up from the Re-install DVD provided along with the computer either. Google Search says it’s an issue with the HDD but the diagnostics don’t indicate so. I’m hoping it’s Windows going crazy again because that would be less costly than having to buy a brand new HDD. The BIOS isn’t helping much either. I’ve started getting a new error now which goes - “Cannot read from disk. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.” Looking this up also suggests that it’s an issue with the HDD. I’ve given up and decided that I’ma call Dell tomorrow and ask them to fix it up.

Paragraph Break!

Meanwhile I’m back on the old laptop, the Toshiba Satellite with a Pentium 3 processor, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB HDD. That’s such fall from the Core 2 Duo, 3GB and 320GB of the Inspiron 1525. Surprisingly however, it doesn’t feel THAT bad. I still love the keyboard on this thing. I would have survived if this had Wifi but it doesn’t and I’m not really used to sitting on the table anymore. Life is so unfair. *sigh*

Um, a little too bright for my liking. But I guess they’re not meant for guys anyway.

The First Crush.

Another post dedicated to the evil shuffle thingy on the Windows Media Player. Whoever introduced this feature must be sitting somewhere laughing his ass off. Sometimes it plays the songs you don’t want to listen to and sometimes it keeps playing the same artist again and again which beats the entire purpose of shuffling. But it also does something else. It reminds you of things you don’t want to be reminded of. Actually, it’s not just the Shuffle feature, your playlist needs to take the blame for this too.

<paragraph change, the theme doesn’t show it. Blah>

Just now it played a song called Ugly by a band called Sugababes. And it brought back some memories. Memories of those good times spent in the Tennis chat room over at Yahoo! Chat. Memories of all those nice people who got so busy with their lives that they never looked back to say ‘hey’ again. But mostly, it brought back memories of the first crush. Her ID on yahoo was sugababe..something. She liked the band Sugababes, apparently. Or maybe she just fancied the name. And I would listen to Sugababes songs just so they’d land up on my Last.FM account where she could see them and maybe she’d feel good. We used to talk, alright. She brought me into Roger Federer, Green Day and Web Designing. All of these are pretty important to me, still. Roger Federer is my favorite tennis player, Green Day is one of my favorite bands and Web Designing is one of the things I would want to do when I grow up..er, I’ve already grown up but you know what I mean, right?

And I. I never even told her that I liked her or had a crush on her. I haven’t talked to her for months now. I remember the face and I do remember the name. I can’t even sing, “Now I wonder how Whatsername has been.”

These would go nicely with Chris Martin’s Viva La Vida costumes.

I feel sorry for people who don’t drink. When they wake up in the morning, that’s as good as they’re going to feel all day.
