Breakdown

So my dear Lady in Red conked out on me today morning. Windows Vista won’t boot up in normal or in safe mode. System Repair refuses to initialize and Last Known Good Configuration was known a long time back. The safe mode gets stuck at one particular driver and gives me the blue screen of death. Windows won’t boot up from the Re-install DVD provided along with the computer either. Google Search says it’s an issue with the HDD but the diagnostics don’t indicate so. I’m hoping it’s Windows going crazy again because that would be less costly than having to buy a brand new HDD. The BIOS isn’t helping much either. I’ve started getting a new error now which goes - “Cannot read from disk. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.” Looking this up also suggests that it’s an issue with the HDD. I’ve given up and decided that I’ma call Dell tomorrow and ask them to fix it up.

Paragraph Break!

Meanwhile I’m back on the old laptop, the Toshiba Satellite with a Pentium 3 processor, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB HDD. That’s such fall from the Core 2 Duo, 3GB and 320GB of the Inspiron 1525. Surprisingly however, it doesn’t feel THAT bad. I still love the keyboard on this thing. I would have survived if this had Wifi but it doesn’t and I’m not really used to sitting on the table anymore. Life is so unfair. *sigh*
